St. Patrick Center Opens St. Louis City’s First, Comprehensive 24-hour Safe Haven, Grace House Grace House, the city’s first, comprehensive, low-barrier, 24-hour Safe Haven, provides safety, security, and wrap-around services for those who may struggle to be successful in a traditional shelter environment.

St. Patrick Center has officially opened the city's first, comprehensive, low-barrier, 24-hour Safe Haven called Grace House. This facility will provide services to 25-40 people who need a safe, sanitary environment as each individual transitions to a permanent housing solution. Grace House will prioritize individuals experiencing persistent homelessness that may deter or affect their ability to remain in traditional, long-term shelters. “We are open and operating Grace House while working with the City of St. Louis to finalize the contract details. The current temperatures and forecast make it even more difficult for people without shelter or housing. We will operate 24/7 and provide any services that people need this winter” - Anthony D’Agostino, CEO St. Patrick Center. Grace House will offer a wide array of resources to help clients increase their physical, mental, and social wellbeing in order to achieve and sustain stable housing and self-sufficiency. Individuals who come to Grace House will have the opportunity to work with staff to find shelter, connect to support services, spend time on the computer, use a telephone, and receive snacks/water. Guests can receive 3 meals a day plus snacks and grab-and-go items. Following the Housing First model, the program prioritizes connecting clients with permanent housing, and provides ongoing wrap-around support to help clients remain stably housed. Referral for Grace House will be taken through “GetHelp”, 211, outreach workers and St. Patrick Center’s welcome center.
