Toni Jordan, St. Patrick Center board member and former client, has been named a 2020 Women of Achievement award recipient. This year, due to the pandemic, the awards celebration aired on the
Nine Network of Public Media (KETC TV) on September 14.
In all, ten extraordinary St. Louis area women were honored for their outstanding volunteer service and leadership.
The St. Louis Women of Achievement Award was founded in 1955 and is the oldest, ongoing program in the area that honors and recognizes the volunteer service and volunteer leadership of women.
We are honored to have Toni serve on our Board of Directors and congratulate her on her Women of Achievement Award!
Toni will always remember St. Patrick Center as a stepping stone to her new life. She came to us in 2008 as she transitioned out of prison. Toni had struggled with drug addiction and shoplifting to support her habit. We helped her get a job as a sewing operator. Years later, Toni is living a beautiful, busy life with some big accomplishments. She harnessed her past experiences into peer support work and is now coordinator of Criminal Justice Ministry’s Let’s Start program for women coming out of incarceration. “I have literally helped women I used to do drugs with or served time with, and they have learned from me.”
