We Remember Greg Vogelweid

Greg V for website 5-19
The St. Patrick Center family is saddened to hear of the loss of our former Chief Operating Officer, Greg Vogelweid, who passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 at the age of 75.

Greg started his St. Patrick Center journey in 1993 as a volunteer working with Executive Director Leo Paradis to develop the agency’s first strategic plan and find room for expansion of programs. He joined the staff in 1994 as Director of Finance and Administration, and became Chief Operating Officer in 2000.

Greg facilitated many large projects, including the Sverdrup donation of our current building, the start-up of our Rosati Group Home on North Grand and the construction of our adjacent Rosati Apartments. He served as acting CEO twice and retired from full time in 2014. Greg continued on a part-time basis as Senior Advisor for Operations and Policy until 2015 and as a monthly volunteer until his death.

In all, Greg dedicated 26 years to St. Patrick Center. In his words from a previous St. Patrick Center newsletter: “My years with St. Patrick Center have been the most fulfilling and exciting of my work career. It has been an honor and privilege to work with so many truly dedicated staff and board members through the years. It has been an experience that I will never forget.”

We ask for your prayers and kind thoughts for Greg, his wife of 50 years, Maggie, and their family. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, May 31 at 10am at St. Francis Xavier College Church, 3628 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, MO.
