It’s a story of redemption. The St. Louis Blues came back from last place in the National Hockey League to win the Stanley Cup. This aligns nicely with the philosophy at St. Patrick Center, where we provide people who are homeless or at risk with opportunities to turn their lives around. Redemption happens at St. Patrick Center every day, as it happened for the St. Louis Blues on June 12, 2019 in Boston.
We are grateful for the St. Louis Blues support! They have been involved with St. Patrick Center in multiple ways: they donate time and leadership by serving on various committees; they sponsor events; donate auction items and have Blues alumnae participate in our golf tournament.
At the 2018 Irish Open gala, Chris Zimmerman noted that the St. Louis Blues will always support St. Patrick Center, but they would not be at the 2019 Gala because they would be in the Stanley Cup playoffs. WOW!
The Blues also contribute directly to our clients by serving lunch in our Shamrock Club and through their well-known Hat Trick event. Every time a Blues player completes a hat trick, fans toss hats onto the ice. The player then chooses any hats he wants and the rest are donated to our clients.
What a team, what a season, what partners. Congratulations to our Stanley Cup champions, the St. Louis Blues!
